What is a BCBA?
Jan 11, 2024BCBA stands for Board Certified Behavior Analyst. When you see that a professional is a BCBA it means that they not only have a masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from an accredited program but that they have completed all requirements from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. These requirements include experience hours, knowledge of a task list, observance with an ethics compliance code, and passing the board exam. A BCBA conducts assessments, functional analysis, and provides behavior analytic services. The BCBA also creates and oversees interventions of clients. When searching for ABA services- make sure to look out for a BCBA on staff!
